        some dirty exotics

At Dunwich on North Stradbroke Island (Southeast Qld) this morning Barry
Davies and I observed a Bar-tailed Godwit coming out of breeding
plumage. This is the first migratory shorebird I have recorded here for
the coming season. Anyone else picking out migratory shorebird arrivals?

In not so good news, we also saw a single Common Starling in Dunwich,
the first time I have seen this bird on the island. On July 7th this
year I recorded my first Indian Mynas for Straddie (a pair at One Mile).
I would be interested if anyone could comment on the historical or
recent presence of these two exotic species on Brisbane's bay islands.

Cheers, Pete Kyne
