Years ago we bought a house in Albury which had a large garden full of
Blackbirds, they were all over the place. The vendors didn't have a cat, but
we did. Within weeks of moving in the Blackbirds had virtually disappeared
from that garden. We now live in Mulgoa, have no cat, but the neighbours
introduce one from time to time, and the number of Blackbirds seems
inversely related to the presence of cats. It was salutory lesson; cats and
birds don't mix.
                                        Cheers
                                               Michael
