Hello bird gang,
A feature article by Nicolas Rothwell that appeared in The Australian
newspaper last Saturday, on a recent expedition deep into the remote
salty reaches of northern South Australia (at the southern end of the
Simpson Desert) was fascinating. Apparently, researchers/scientists on
the field excursion have discovered 'bird species not yet recorded'
(actual quote) at Kallakoopah Creek! This is thrilling. I'd be
fascinated to know what the team unearthed. Perhaps a new grasswren,
chat or whiteface!
Does anyone know anything more about this? I can imagine the new
discoveries are being kept top secret.
Lorne
