Hi All,
I saw a BROWN PIGEON at the top of Mayfair Rd. Mulgoa yesterday
morning about 9.00am. Only the second on my twenty year records. COMMON
BRONZEWINGS are regular up there. Also two EASTERN WHIPBIRDS chasing one
another across the road dividing their territory, and in the roadside
vegetation a few feet away from me, calling and churring, while a third bird
called from further back. Also GREY BUTCHERBIRD, male GOLDEN WHISTLER, Brown
and Yellow Thornbills. YELLOW-TAILED BLACK COCKATOOS chewing up our Texas
Umbrella Tree (Melia) for witchetty Grubs, one left behind a perfect tail
feather. EUROPEAN GOLDFINCH in the garden, in a loose feeding flock of
Silvereyes, Grey Fantails, Superb Blue Wrens, Willie Wagtail, Restless
Flycatcher and Yellow-rumped Thornbills.
No rain on the horizon, why are a family of three LAUGHING
KOOKABURRAS cackling away several times a day?
Beautiful birding weather.
