I also see them in my VERY urban part of Coburg (Melbourne).
A couple of weeks ago I was looking out the kitchen window at the small gap
of sky over my neighbours roof and one flashed by a metre or so from me. I
once stepped out my back door into a cloud of turtle dove feathers. The dead
dove was dropped into my neighbours yard and hunter flew off. Most
unfortunate timing for me to have inadvertently disturb it. PLENTY more
feral doves and pigeons about to choose from.
Also had a Sparrow Hawk take a sparrow in my back yard once.
And an owl in my street tree too!
It is wonderful to see these birds managing to adapt to utilising our
cityscapes.
