G'day Marnix,

I use a pair of Pentax 12*50 PCF WP. Apart from the fact that they weigh a fair bit and have a reverse focus thread, they perform well - provide a very clear field of view for a budget pair of knockers. They are also very robust. I normally use a karabiner to attach them to one of my pack straps so I don't have them hanging off my neck.

Regard, Laurie.

I am in the market for a pair of waterproof/fogproof and rubber coated
binoculars for less than c.$800. I have my eye on the Nikon Monarch 8x42.

Does anyone have any advice for me regarding good budget waterproof binos or maybe someone has a pair of the Nikon Monarchs and can tell me how they
find them.
Any advice on where to buy a pair would also be appreciated.
