Hi All, I agree with Ingrid, it is indeed a Wedge-tailed Shearwater
albeit a late one, if photographed in June. The general shape of the
bird, longish tail, rather broad primaries, slimmish bill (Sooty's would
be longer , darker and more robust) and the pale fringes to the
upperwing coverts, giving an almost barred appearance. The paleness on
the underwing is merely light reflection. Sooty Shearwater is larger,
heavier and darker, more uniform in colouration.

Short-tailed is similar to Sooty but slightly less robust and with
shorter, slimmer bill. Wings, shorter, more narrow than for Wedge-tailed
Shearwater. Cheers - Paul W.
