   Grant.
            Dingoes came a long time before foxes, undoubtedly altered the
balance of things once they were here, but it seems that they kept fox
numbers down so that some, possibly many, small native mammals,which
survived dingoes but could not survive foxes, were wiped out.
           Protecting dingoes now is too late for those species. Night
Parrot probably also suffered from fox predation.
