Hello birdlovers... Lorne here...

In the schoolyard where I am, here at Loreto Normanhurst, Sydney, I just
watched a terrific five minute interplay between two rainbow lorikeets
and an Australian raven... the lorikeets were munching away on some
kid's discarded muffin... the raven approached and tried to snatch the
muffin about ten times - each time its attempts were thwarted by one of
the lorikeets, which lunged at the raven, its beak open, wings
flapping... it wasn't until a second raven arrived on the scene that the
lorikeets got scared and surrended the muffin! Rainbows are such ballsy
creatures!

I'm sure there's a religious parable in there somewhere.

I love watching unexpected bird behaviour, especially in common species.

Have a good day, one and all,

Lorne
