Greetings,
Last night while playing cards with Maria we had the new Jack Leighton video playing. It reminded me that I had not let this community know about this wonderful new birding resource. Jack has 100 of the wet tropics birds videoed with the calls of each species on a two DVD, two hour package. The photography and sound varies from good to outstanding, with most of it being very good. Jack has taken 5 years to put this together and spent many hours in the field and in editing. I believe his recording of the Oriental Cuckoo calling is a first for Australia. The behaviours of the birds range from cute breeding interactions of Wompoos, humorous bathing by a Cassowary to outlandishly bold displays by Riflebirds and Boatbills. Before each section there is a picture of a flower, fruit or fungi with the name of the bird; human voice does not interrupt the spectacle. I recommend this video for anyone coming to this part of the world and for presents. Jack can be contacted at .

I have no economic interest in this product.
Regards,
Alan
