Gooday birders

Last night near Gosford, NSW, I put a spotlight on a small tree hollow,
approximately 6cm entrance, in a Stringybark tree at about 6m, and
noticed a Rainbow Lorikeet in the hollow. It seems a bit late for these
to be breeding. Does anyone know if hollow nesting birds like the
lorikeets regularly roost in hollows as well as nest in them. I know the
Tyto Owls roost in tree hollows while the Ninox ones tend not to, but
what about other birds? Anyone with some observations or knowledge on
this?
