Picaridin

Hi Dave

I finally got hold of some "Off! Skintastic" yesterday, a 175 ml spray
bottle from Coles (formerly BI-LO) in Woodend, Vic. Possibly all Coles
stores have it.

The active ingredient is indeed 92.8 g/l Picaridin according to the label.

I must admit I didn't read the fine print in the 2005 CHOICE article before
posting it. As someone suggested, it looks as though they've switched the
active ingredient from DEET to picaridin.

Anyway, it's coming with us to Malaysia, so we'll test it for both mozzies
and leeches. There were no ill-effects when I dobbed some on some
rubber-armoured binoculars, which is of course the main reason for
preferring it.

Regards

Neville

That review shows Skintastic is DEET based, not Picardin?

"Off! Skintastic" containing Picaridin is available from Coles and BI-LO
supermarkets (at least the BI-LO in Woodend Victoria has it).

It has been reviewed by CHOICE: see

Hi Birders,

Can anyone please tell me where I can buy Picaridin? I would like to take
it to Thailand and Bhutan with me next month.

TIA

Cheers,

Fiona
