Ian Hackworthy's advice is on the money for me if the bird is up in a tree and part of a group it is unlikely to be PCD. In four years of dealing with all manner of PCD infected psittacines for work and fourteen years of field ornithology I have never seen a Rainbow with PCD that flew. The dietary angle is interesting in the nectivorous lorikeets but I would not rule out a colour mutation as a few of these have been seen over the years. The Rainbow Lroikeet is the single most common bird taken by WIRES members.
