Top o' the Mornin to you all. I have just got home from a trip to the SURF
BEACH at Cape Woolamai, Phillip Island, Vic. There were 6 HOODED PLOVER
loafing on the sand about 50 meters to the left of the steps down to the
beach.. For those of you who are interested, and perhaps have not got this
species on their list, there were about 10 CAPE BARREN GEESE feeding in a field
where they grew peas a few weeks ago. The field is situated on the Newhaven -
Cowes Road on Phillip Island ,on the right hand side, about 1 kilometre from
Cowes - beside a golf range. They have been there for about a week already and
seem to be having a feast on what is left of the peas, they also look as if
they could be there for a bit longer. Cheers Robbie Brown
