Hi Rosemary, Many Autralian micro-bats shelter by day in tree hollows, some also under loose bark. My guess is that this would be where a foraging Currawong would happen upon such a meal. Just glancing at a reference book I also note that Gould's Wattle Bat "roosting sites include tree spouts, BIRDS NESTS......."* and interestingly Chocolate Wattle Bat "individuals are known to hibernate in abandoned nests of Fairy Martins"* Wendy Moore * Source: The Australian Museum Complete Book of Australian Mammals Ed.
