Hi all,
I spent several hours in Nightcap National Park last week (on 21, 22 and 23
January).
Locations: Gibbergunyah Range Road (Big Scrub), the Scrub Turkey Walk to
Rocky Creek Dam, and the corner of Rummery Road and Minyon Drive.
As always it was enjoyable birding.
No new / unusual sightings apart from a partly albino Noisy Pitta seen in
good light in the rainforest regeneration area of the Scrub Turkey walk (close
to Rocky Creek Dam) at around 8.30am on Tuesday 23rd January.
The bird had a white head (no black), yellowish beak with slashes of green
and yellow on slide and back. No red was visible. The bird was about 85% white.
Observed for 30-40 seconds from a distance of 15 metres.
