Hi All,

Feeling frustrated by my inability to tick this species off, despite having
heard them a few times. Can anyone point me in the direction of Fairhope near
Bairnsdale? Being reported from there since October, not only can I not find
the Cicadabird, I can't even find Fairhope. Directions would be greatly
appreciated both to the area and to the bird. Thanks in advance.

I can't help with the bird, but general directions for Fairhope:

Take the Omeo road out of Bairnsdale. About six km on the left take Deptford Rd. Waterholes Rd goes off this to the right, and Polly Walker Rd joins the two roads; Fairhope is the area south of Polly Walker. Satelite imagery shows timber from the junction of Deptford and Waterholes Rd for about 3 km, with some more along Polly Walker. It's shown clearly in the RACV/Vic Roads Atlas, and also on the Rooftop Bairnsdale-Dargo-Omeo Adventure Map.

Good hunting.
