I can fully concur with Alastair's comments.  I too use Simon's BirdInfo
program.  Indeed, while I make no claims to being the first to sign up for
BirdInfo, I believe I am among th earliest subscribers to the program.  Back
in those days - if memory serves me correctly - you had the option of either
an 'Australia only' version at $49 or a 'worldwide version' at $99.  Over
the years Simon has gradually improved BirdInfo; he continues to make
further improvements.

It was the program I used to help me pen 'The Birds of the Redcliffe
Peninsula', published in SUNBIRD - the scientific journal of the Queensland
Ornithological Society [now Birds Queensland]- back in the mid-1990s.

Again, to reiterate Alasrait's caveate, I have no proprietary interest in
this software but like its functionality.
