Hi all you Corella connoissseurs,

In August 2006, while fulfilling a 30 year old promise to visit my brother in Perth, Western Australia, I photographed some Corellas in Bold Park.
Naturally I was hoping for Western Corellas.
From observations on the spot and subsequent reviews of the images all of the birds seemed to be
virtually identical except that some individuals had noticeably longer upper
mandibles.

I have posted some images on a web-page at
http://users.tpg.com.au/inglisrc/corellabills.htm

My question is: Are any of these birds likely to be Western Corellas?
And: Can Western Corella be identified by bill length alone?

It might be best to reply to me directly at and I can post a summary later on BirdingAus.

Cheers
