There are Southern Emu Wrens scattered through the upper Blue Mountains.
I used to see them in a hanging swamp adjoining the fire trail running
of Queens Rd Hazelbrook many years ago. I don't know if they are still
there but I'm Carol Probets would know several sites. The BM population
appears to be isolated and I can remember thinking the BM males had
more blue than coastal birds so maybe they are a phylogenetic tick.
