What is a Parasitic Jaeger? Is that an old name for Arctic or a
completely different bird that isn't in my field guides?

The bill is too slender for a Pom and both it and the legs are all
dark, like those of older birds. Younger birds would have shown traces
of pale on the tarsus and a bi-coloured bill.
The head shape is quite long with a gently sloping forehead (small
'pigeon' head with a steep forehead in Long-tailed) and the head
pattern includes the diagnostic pale blaze around the bill and a pale
hindneck, which should furthermore exclude Pom. The pale-edged
feathers on the fore-mantle are a normal feature in winter plumaged
birds (and often the first traces of winter plumage during moult).
Ageing can been done by checking the under wing-coverts, which would
still show extensive areas of barring in 3 cal. year, but being all
dark in adult (4. cal. years normally still shows some barring,
especially on the greater-coverts).
