I guess it is up to an individual what they count as "Australia" -
http://users.bigpond.net.au/palliser/pelagic/totals.html (which is a list of
individual birders' totals) says:

Geography shall be defined as Mainland Australia, its Territories
or anywhere within the 200 NM limit (excluding Antarctica)

which is as good a definition as any. Of course some of these places have a
very different avifauna to "mainland" Australia, but they are technically
part of Australia.

Birds Australia publish a list on their website (which does not include the
GHL and I think is restricted to members) and there is a different list at
http://cassowary-house.com.au/reports.htm and general lists at
http://www.bsc-eoc.org/avibase/ and other web sites.

Hi to the net
I am wondering where I can get a comprehensive list of Australian birds
(including the recent GHL etc) and also where exactly does one draw the
line
as to which areas fall into Australia to make up this list. It seems to
become a bit unclear as one moves through the islands further north
towards
PNG
Any help on these would be very useful
Thanks
Regards
Mark
