Im just back from spending the weekend in Bermagui on the NSW South Coast.
The true highlight was watching a mother Dolphin and two calves feeding for
ages within the harbour at dusk, after seeing a pod of 8 Dolphins surfing
waves metres from shore at Wallaga Beach earlier in the day.

Birds seen included Spotted Crake, Latham's Snipe, Brown Quail, Brown
Falcon, Swamp Harrier, Whistling Kite, Little Tern, Caspian Tern,
Sharp-tailed Sandpiper, Red-necked Stint, Bar-tailed Godwit, Eastern Curlew,
Pied Oystercatcher, Little Egret and Eastern Reef Egret. Also a
1.5mlong Smooth Stingray.

It seems that the Spotted Crake record may be an unusual record according to
my Eurobodalla Natural History Society annual reports.

Cheers
Marnix
