On Tuesday I took a trip out to Gatton and Laidley. On Apex Lake at Gatton, 9 Wandering Whistling Ducks landed just after we arrived. Are they regular visitors here? Also of note on the day - a single Lathams Snipe observed at Lake Galletly lurking in the shadows amid the hordes of Plumed Whistling Ducks, a Square Tailed kite over the dams near the dairy operation on the Gatton Campus and a beautiful Spotted Harrier on the road to Red Rock Recreation Reserve. No Cotton Pygmy Geese seen on any of the lakes unfortunately.
