There are commercial and recreational harvests of Short-tailed Shearwater
at colonies in Bass Strait so you can indeed buy Muttonbird meat
in shops. Summary here:
http://www.aph.gov.au/Senate/committee/rrat_ctte/completed_inquiries/1996-99/wild/report/c15.htm

There is recreational hunting of various ducks and Stubble&Brown Quail,
various native birds are trapped/killed because they interfere with
agriculture or other activities but I think Short-tailed Shearwater are
the only Australian bird species harvested commercially.
