Alan Gillanders etc will have a better idea, but winter is usually the best to see the Sarus coming in to roost at sunset at Bromfield crater. An awesome sight indeed! During the day in paddocks on the Tablelands i think are a good bet over towards Hasties Swamp.

I have a query from a non-birding friend who wants to see Brolgas ("and Sarus Cranes" I added helpfully) somwehere in FNQ like Bromfield Crater or
the Mareeba Wetlands.

What are their seasonal movements and is there a peak season for their
visibility in this area?

cheers
