Coolmunda Dam, is an interesting spot for bird watching. I've been stopping
there for nearly 30 years on my trips between Brisbane & Melbourne or Canberra.

Be careful there. I got bitten by a large Brown Snake there on 31-8-1997. Made
for a very scary morning. Same day Diana & Dodi dropped off. I doubt I would
have received a comparable funeral though. Fortunately for me the snake bit
onto the top of my padded boot because I jumped, after I felt it squirm after I
unknowingly stood on it (whilst walking and looking up at birds instead of down
at the ground). It sure hit me with a thump though.
