Bowerbird Mimicry

A few years ago, while staying with my cousin and his wife in Ernabella 
in the Musgrave Ranges in far north west SA, a Spotted Bowerbird was 
often in a shrub in their garden doing an excellent job of mimicking a cat.
But what really intrigued us was another noise it was making that it 
took a while to identify.  It wasn't until some Aboriginal kids were 
rolling the plastic lids of Lauckes Bread Mix tins along the road in 
front of their house that we realized what the noise was.
