Hi to anyone heading for the Lapwing,

I found the following in the Field Guide to the birds of West Malaysia
and Singapore (Jeyarajasingam and Pearson), which covers a wintering
area for the species:

"Shy, taking to flight at the slightest sign of danger".

Four of us are leaving Melbourne at 1:00 am on Saturday so if you are
watching the bird, please think of us coming after you. Also, please
keep the reports coming. I don't want to drive 1300 + km to find that
the bird has left.

What a wonderful thing is the "birding-aus" website. My thanks to all
who contribute to it.

Jen
