Black faced cuckoo shrike mystery

Since observing a black faced cuckoo shrike sitting on wires above Parramatta 
Rd, Burwood a few months ago, i've noticed them on other extremely busy, dirty, 
loud roads sitting on powerlines around Sydney, eg Canterbury Rd, Sydenham Rd 
and Marrickville Rd and near the airport. Does anyone have any idea why they 
hang around such locations? Are they adapting themselves for the greenhouse 
effect or something? Any ideas?
