I'd much rather stand above the beach at Cape Woolamai on Phillip Island in
Victoria and watch tens of thousands of Shearwaters coming into their nest
sites at dusk.  That is truly magnificent!!!

I think that one of the great birding sights to be seen on our planet is 
the sight of flocks of many thousands of starlings to be seen in Europe. 
I have seen and marvelled at this sight in England and France. Earth 
Science Picture of the Day for today, June 20 2006, shows sixteen 
recent  photos of starling flocks in Danmark.
