During last week whilst looking for Red-tailed Black Cockatoos (
graptogynes, which we didn't find)in the Three Chains Road and Telford
Scrub areas north of Mt Gambier we did however find huge numbers of
Yellow -tails, hundreds and probably thousands of them feeding in the
pine forests. Quite a sight ( and sound), but they had the wrong colour
tails !!

Nice to hear then see a flock of 10 Yellow-tailed Black-Cockatoo's
flying
south over Melbourne suburb Richmond yesterday. The species is becoming
a
regular winter visitor to the suburb and is often associated with the
Yarra River bushland corridor.
