It's also quite common to see Sacred Kingfishers on the beach rocks near
The Bluff at Victor Harbor in South Oz.

Tony,
Brighten your day.
If you turn your face to the sun, shadows fall behind you.

I have seen Azures fishing in tidal zones - a quick check of my lists
for 2005 tells me that I have seen them at Apple Tree Bay in Ku-Ring-Gai
NP and at Williga Inlet in Meroo NP on the NSW South Coast. Perhaps the
behaviour is not so unusual - the European Kingfisher is a regular
inter-tidal fisher although is more easily associated in people's minds
with freshwater streams. When I visit my parents in the SW of England,
after two or three walks down to the tidal creek I will have picked up
one or both of the local pair. Cheers Tom Wilson
