Hi all

Yesterday morning I watched a flock of approx 200 Corellas fly over their
usual stop at the local pond where they then proceeded to land in my street.
They were all over houses, sheds, the road and swinging from power lines and
trees and making a lot of noise (I just love their calls, my wife says they
sound like they've been out drinking all night and are having a great time).

Anyway, most of them were 'Little Corellas' as they had no pink feathers
showing through on their necks and the bills tips were short and stubby, but
there was also the odd one with very obvious pink neck feathers, longer bill
and vivid yellow under the wings.

The local bird club assures me they have sighted 'Long Billed Corellas' in
Hervey Bay a few times (even though the maps in my books say otherwise) but
would they normally mix in together like that?

Also, does the Little Corella have the yellow under its wings? Neither of my
guides show the bird in flight or mention the yellow?

Appreciate any advice offered

Many Thanks

Lee

 :-)
