Hi Evan,

There were a large number of Pied Currawongs along the Nepean river banks at
Penrith, both yesterday morning and early today and I have had several in my
bird-bath this week, so there are a lot in the area.

I once again saw the Square-tailed Kite in South Penrith on Thursday, it was
cruising the treetops in the Maxwell Street area around 9am (accompanied by
the usual squadron of Noisy Miners etc), and about 45 minutes later was
circling at a much higher altitude.

Flocks of Rainbow Lorikeets and a large number of Red-rumped Parrots around
at the moment, so it will be worth looking out for Swift Parrots as well,
they have been seen here in the past few years.

Regards, Mike Simpson
