Maybe you`ve already had replies to this but your second pic looks like a
Square-tailed Kite to me.
-A nice bird to see. The alarm calls you described are also typical with
encounters I`ve had...

At the risk of being criticized once more for asking for help here, I would
appreciate help with the following bird ID.

I was sitting in my yard without my books or bins, but with my camera to
hand when I heard a lot of commotion in the surrounding trees, and the above
bird circled at low level followed by squadrons of Ravens, Noisy Miners and
Magpie Larks.
I managed to grab a couple of shots before it flew away. The bird had a
light coloured head and square cut tail and was very large even when
compared to a Raven.
I am thinking of an immature Square-tailed Kite from my book, but would like
this confirmed/debunked etc.
