Definitely Square-tailed Kite. The fingering and the pale face are definite ID signs. Not certain of age.
A good sighting (probably migrating north for the winter).
Cheers,
Peter

At the risk of being criticized once more for asking for help here, I would
appreciate help with the following bird ID.

I was sitting in my yard without my books or bins, but with my camera to
hand when I heard a lot of commotion in the surrounding trees, and the above
bird circled at low level followed by squadrons of Ravens, Noisy Miners and
Magpie Larks.

I managed to grab a couple of shots before it flew away. The bird had a
light coloured head and square cut tail and was very large even when
compared to a Raven.

I am thinking of an immature Square-tailed Kite from my book, but would like
this confirmed/debunked etc.
