White Tern at Malanda

  The day after Cyclone Larry struck north Queensland a White Tern was
  found at Malanda on the Atherton Tablelands.  He was in poor condition
  and exhausted.  However, after 2 weeks in the care of Far North
  Queensland Wildlife Rescue he is well fed and soon to be released.
  Although a tern of the open ocean, White Terns are occasionally
  carried to Far North Queensland with cyclones.  Malanda is nearly 50km
  from the coast as the crow (or tern) flies.  Certainly a beautiful and
  delicate tern.  I have placed some photos on a website at:
