Everyone,

The boss was kind enough to finally roster me 2 days off in a row (first since early Feb) so I took the chance and headed for the mountains with the main objective of adding to my ever important year list. Birds highlighted are year ticks:

Day 1.

Pearce's Pass- New Holland Honeyeater, BEAUTIFUL FIRETAIL (1), Brown Thornbill, White-browed Scrubwren, ROCK WARBLER (1).

Zig Zag Railway- GREY CURRAWONG (1)

Lake Wallace- PINK-EARED DUCK (3), Great-crested Grebe, Musk Duck, Aust. Shoveler

Capertee Valley (after dark)- SOUTHERN BOOBOOK (1)


Day 2.

Glen Davis camping area- BLACK-CHINNED HONEYEATER (2), BROWN TREECREEPER (2+), PEACEFUL DOVE (3+), RESTLESS FLYCATCHER (1), Diamond Firetail (with nest), Yellow-tufted Honeyeater, Speckled Warbler, Little Lorikeet, Gang-gang Cockatoo, Crested Shrike-tit

Glen Alice Rd- SOUTHERN WHITEFACE (2), Scarlet Robin (2), White-bellied Cuckoo-shrike

Glen Davis Rd- WHITE-BROWED BABBLER (5+), Hooded Robin (pair + 1 young male), Common Bronzewing

Crown Station Rd- REGENT HONEYEATER (20+), MUSK LORIKEET (2), White-browed Babbler, Black-chinned Honeyeater, Striped Honeyeater, White-bellied Cuckoo-shrike, Brown Treecreeper, Dusky Woodswallow, Restless Flycatcher, Speckled Warbler, Diamond Firetail

Pitt Town Lagoon- RED-KNEED DOTTEREL (2), NUTMEG MANNIKIN (5+), Chestnut-breasted Mannikin, Red-whiskered Bulbul, White-necked Heron, Aust. Shoveler, Variegated Fairy-wren.

15 year ticks and 119 species for the 2 days.
Year list now stands at 245!!!
