In August 1968, I saw a Rufus Scrub Bird running across the Central Station to the Back Beach Rd. The spot was about 1km east of the Hair-Pin Bend turn-off to Lake Mackenzie. The spot was in an area at the bottom of the slope that has a Hoop Pine plantation on the right. It is always a very wet spot and has palm trees on the left.  It is a beautiful and easy walk.
