Hi all,

I've recently upgraded the Echuca and District BOCA web site and listed
lots of Australian birding links on the side of the home page...bird photo
galleries, bird guides, web sites of individual birders, etc.

If you have your have your own birding site or know any good sites about
Australian birds which have not been listed, please reply to me
individually.

I've just added more photographs of Echuca district birds, including photos
of the Painted Snipe which have been at rutherglen over recent weeks.

I'm currently working with others on a series of brochures, each on a
different birding location around Echuca. Once referees have commented on
each brochure, the brochures will be posted so that they can be downloaded
as pdfs.

Subscibers may be interested to note that the East Gippsland BOCA branch
has already posted a number of downloadable brochures on localities such as
Mallacoota and Cann River.

Many Shires have birding route brochures which can be obtained by
contacting the Shire's information centre.

A year or two back I was privileged to be able to check out some great
birding spots around Barraba and Warialda in north-eastern NSW with the
designer of the bird rougtes of that area.

(A sign in Warialda, incidentally, claimed it was in western NSW;
some seem to regard any place west of Sydney as being in Western NSW ~ it
is pleasing to note that Birding-aus contributors are correctly referring
to places like Wagga as being in southern NSW rather than western NSW ~
compass directions should be based on the geographical centre of the State).

Anyway, enjoy the site and let me know if you can suggest additional
links/improvements.
