Mike,
I guess we are supposed to know what "SIPO" stands for? I am presuming
it's something-or-other Pied Oystercatcher?

Strange looking Pied Oystercatcher sitting amongst Golden plovers and
Bar-tailed godwits on Friday at Shoalhaven Heads, NSW, east of Nowra.
Seemed to have short legs. long thin bill and extra white in the
wings. may be SIPO. There has been up to 15 Pieds roosting in the
area at high tide over the last week including two juveniles.
Shoalhaven Heads is great at the moment with up to 300 Golden Plovers
amongst the masses of shorebirds preparing for their northerly
migration. many of the Golden plovers are comming into breeding
plumage.
come and support the new shorebird protection zone and interp area.
The more birdwatchers the less dogs.
cheers
mike
