A friend of mine recently testafied as an expert witness on Swift Parrots down in Tassie in a court case being privately funded by Bob Brown.  There's a large chunk of Swift Parrot breeding habitat that's going to be logged in that very Tasmanian fashion of slash and burn if he loses, so it's not just windows they have to worry about.

Chris

Just watched a story on the Swift Parrot on Totally Wild. With only about a
thousand pair, good to see the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife are attempting
to give them help with protection of and planting and encorageing of
additional Tasmanian Blue Gums in their breeding areas. The Swift Parrots is
another bird being wiped out by windows.
