Hi Birders,

Chris Sanderson has been concerned that he has been missing the Koels ininner Sydney,NSW, despite everyone telling him that they have had no troublefinding them.

The thing is that from mid January onwards the calling rate slows down andindeed it is possible that a number of Koels have already rounded up theiroffsping, having been fostered by other species and started the returnnorthwards. Certainly here at Bateau Bay, the daily early morning calls(since September) ceased about one week ago and now it is just a contactcall or two sometime during the day, if at all.
