Red-footed Booby. Daily. Common.
Brown Booby. Daily. Adult and large chick observed at Rocky Point 17/11.
Great Frigatebird. Daily. Common.
Lesser Frigatebird. Two single males observed. Rocky Point 13/11 & CI Resort (Waterfall Beach) 18/11.
Christmas Island Frigatebird. Daily. Common.
White-faced Heron. Daily, usually single birds. Six together at rubbish tip on 18/11.
Eastern Reef Egret. Single white morph Lily Beach 15/11. Two grey morph CI Resort (Waterfall Beach) 18/11.
Great Egret. Three separate sightings (possibly a single bird); observed on wall in Poon Saan 13/11, in flight from balcony VQ3 Lodge (Gaze Road, Settlement) 15/11 and feeding near radio masts (near rubbish tip) 18/11.

Striated Heron. One bird observed in flight, from VQ3 Lodge 18/11. (2 observers)
Christmas Island Goshawk. Three single birds observed. A juvenile along the road to the Dales then an adult a kilometre further east, both on 14/11 and a subadult on Margaret Knoll Road 18/11.

Nankeen Kestrel. Daily. Numbers have increased since our visit in 2003.
White-breasted Waterhen. Daily, with several sightings at the rubbish tip (possibly three to five individual birds). Birds also observed near Norris Point on 13/11, Phosphate Hill 17/11 and heard along The Dales-Martin Point Road.

Little Curlew. One bird observed standing on grass at edge of runway as we were boarding the plane to return to Perth, 1610 hours on 19/11. (8 observers)

Common Sandpiper. Single birds observed at Ethel Beach 14/11, Flying Fish Cove & Dolly Beach 16/11 and Waterfall Beach 18/11.

Common Noddy. Daily, roosting on ship loader and mooring ropes and in flight offshore.
Emerald Dove. Daily.
Christmas Island Imperial Pigeon. Daily. Common.
Christmas Island Hawk-Owl. Two observations at golf course; two birds spotlighted on 13/11 and one on 17/11.
