New Year's Eve, afternoon, and I was idly watching a Speckled Warbler
through a window on the opposite side of the house to where I'm usually
birding from. As it picked its way to and fro through the litter a small
pump shape dropped in almost next to it. A quail, but tiny, barely bigger
than the Speckled Warbler. Little Button-quail! Just the one.

Next morning, Eileen flushed the same bird three of four times on a short
walk in the same general area, each time it gave a few little squeaky
squeals and fluttered not too far away before dropping back into the
grasses.

Bird 206 for the Abberton list. And it's got onto the 2005 and 2006 lists!
