Hi Wynton,
I came across the same number of duckings recently at Seawinds on the Mornington Peninsula (south of Melbourne).
There are any number of Wood Duck resident at Seawinds and I sometimes wonder if they adopt babies from other parents. Its hard to imagine so many eggs in one nest (hollow). The parent would surely have to lay more than one egg a day. Does anyone know,
Ian Dowling
