As of 730pm today (14/12) the bird was still around catching insects. It was
very interesting to watch the bird crouch down and wait for insects to come
by. The afternoon sun made for excellent viewing through the scope.
While in the area I visited the Aldinga Wash area on Button Rd. but didn't
see anything unusual except for a Spotless Crake perched on a fence post -
looked a little out of place.
Earlier today I spent a couple of hours over at the Tolderol Game Reserve
where the water levels are up. Not a great variety of species but there were
over 1500 Sharp-tailed Sandpipers in one of the ponds which certainly took
some time to check through for any oddities.
