Last Saturday I volunteered to assist DEH (S.A), Parks and Wildlife,
RSPCA and other NGO's in a bird rescue operation at Bolivar Wastewater
Treatment Plant north of Adelaide.

A non-toxic spray used to control midge fly was on one of the ponds.
This compromised the birds (mainly Eurasian Coots and Black Swans)
ability to remain water proof (see link below for full details).

Is there any possibility that a similar product was used at Werribee? If
so, it is a concern that this has been missed in any research carried
out before spraying was permitted.
