Dear All,

My son and I are thinking of spending 2 weeks birding in NZ, trying to pick up as many endemic species as possible.

Unfortunately, the only 2 weeks we can use in the near future (due to school term times and other commitments) are at Easter 2006, which I am guessing could possibly be too late in autumn to really be a good idea.

Can anyone advise me whether that's a really bad time, what the best timing might be, and who and where to go to in order to get the best birding info - also what field and 'where to watch' guides would be recommended?

Many thanks

Tim
